Golden anniversary of military intelligence

Abstract

The celebration of the 50th anniversary of military intelligence brings us together to evoke the origin of the Intelligence Weapon specialty in Colombia. For this purpose, in a succinct manner, we will allude to three references that frame this historical fact of the military forces and especially of military intelligence.

The first reference of military intelligence is of religious origin, when Joshua whose meaning in ancient Hebrew is "The Savior", becomes the patron of intelligence, the second reference of military intelligence is of historical origin, when in February 1962, The third reference of military intelligence is framed in the science of heraldry, which originated in medieval times, as a way to identify and particularize the armies.
