Abstract

This research is oriented at first to know the feasibility and proposal of a security system design that seeks to reduce the risk of troop mortality by helping to detect the presence of the enemy, through the implementation of a set of metal detectors located around the sentinel post, which will issue an alert that will serve to notify you of the violation of the perimeter, detecting a person with some type of metallic element (knife, gun, grenade) that they may bring. This proposal is of great importance because the security of the troops is not entirely effective within any area where they are located. The main objective is to propose a perimeter security system design for the military units of the National Army, initially knowing the viability of the proposal with the intention of providing the possibility of detecting a threat in time and thus neutralizing it to avoid operational failure. The methodology developed was a qualitative approach of a descriptive type, applying surveys directed at a staff of students and interviews with soldiers with knowledge of metal detectors. As main results, it was found that years ago there was an early warning system in the national army, but with very orthodox methods, in addition, it was identified that the sentinels are exposed to being attacked during their service provision.
