The influence of FARC-EP and ELN on the human dominion since the 60s in Colombia
Abstract
More than controlling territories, cities or destroying the enemy, conflicts have historically been based on influencing or controlling the population (the Human Domain). Perhaps Colombia has not been the exception, where the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People's Army (FARC-EP) and the National Liberation Army (ELN) have carried out tasks to influence the population and gain legitimacy before it. In this sense, this article seeks to explain how these armed organizations have developed tasks around influencing the population, based on their strategic plans, on the opinion of experts on security and sociology issues, and on the perception of the community of intelligence of the National Army and even in testimonies of former members of these same guerrillas. In other words, we want to demonstrate a possible strategy in the Human Domain by these non-state actors.
