The Colombian State's obligation to Venezuelan migrants in the framework established by the international organization for migration (2016-2018)

Abstract

As the 21st century progresses, more and more people are forced in different ways to cut their roots and move to another place, the phenomenon of mobilization called migration, that growing movement of men, women and children who decide to leave their country due to different political, social and economic problems, becomes even more complicated. These migrations have important impacts both in the "expelling" countries and in the receiving countries, that is why talking about the massive migration of Venezuelan citizens to our country becomes today a very important issue because it involves from the universally declared human rights to the internal law of the Colombian country. The migration process not only affects the migrants, but also has significant consequences in the economic and social relations of the countries involved, therefore this research is carried out in order to study the obligation of the Colombian State towards Venezuelan migrants in the framework provided by the International Organization for Migration, since due to the shortage and the humanitarian situation that Venezuela is experiencing, more and more Venezuelan migrants have arrived in our country.
